NON FERIS
Following her interest in architecture Cathy researched exterior and interior brutalist buildings around London with the context being a large piece of wall art for a public space. This tied in with her principle of sharing what she does with a wide audience. Cathy’s research focused in particular on the wood grain surfaces that are prevalent around the interiors of some building wanting to represent the power and strength of Brutalist architecture but juxtaposed with the softness of textiles and embroidery techniques.
